Song lyrics

Lyrics

Immeasurable grace Stayed when I ran. Sat with the ruins And reached for my hand. It never excused my sin. It never concealed my blame. It called me out of hiding And still remembered my name. I thought that grace was payment for the good that I could show, A mercy I could calculate by everything I owed. But grace was never measured by the deeds that I performed, It met me in destruction and refused to leave me torn. It sat beside the broken when I could not lift my head, Sought the man who wandered while he lived among the dead. It did not shame the sinner or pretend his sin was small— It led him to repentance, then remained through every fall. Infidelity began the road that tore two homes apart, Then sixteen years unfolded from that compromised start. I left my second marriage, seeking healing from the past, Trying to stand right before God and tell the truth at last. But repentance did not give me back the life I threw away— My first wife had remarried; time had carried on its way. There was no simple doorway to the home I once had known, Only wreckage, tangled families, and truth I had to own. Grace said, “Turn.” I chose to leave. Stop protecting What deceives. Name the sin. Face the cost. Follow Christ Through what was lost. It is a mess, Father. There is no cleaner phrase. No righteous-looking ending Can restore the stolen days. Turning from the sin Did not reverse what sin had done. It only stopped my hiding And turned my face toward the Son. Grace did not make it simple. Grace made me tell the truth. Grace met me in the consequences My choices had produced. Immeasurable grace Did not promise me my place— It taught me how to seek Your will Inside the mess I made. Immeasurable grace Does not give me what I want. It teaches me to honor Every boundary I confront. I will honor her decisions. I will honor where she stands. I will honor her new marriage With these open, empty hands. I will not call disruption Restoration in Your name. I will not use our history To interfere again. If the life she has today Is a life without my face, I will love her by respecting it— Immeasurable grace. Doing right before You Means releasing every claim. It means blessing what she chooses Without attaching my own name. It means honoring her marriage And the life she lives today. It means never using longing To pull her heart away. Grace stayed when I was running. Grace found me in disgrace. Grace brought me to repentance But did not restore my place. So if loving her means distance, Give me strength to honor space. Let my life become the evidence Of immeasurable grace.
