Song lyrics

Lyrics

Hurt people hurt people, I know because I was one, carrying wounds I never faced, passing pain from where I came from. I thought surviving was enough, I thought hiding made me strong, but every wound I refused to heal found another place to belong. I was shaped by broken places, I was formed by fear and pain, I learned to fight the battles but never learned to face the rain. I hurt people I loved, I carried things I should have surrendered, but grace met me in the ashes and showed me I could be remembered. I don't want to pass down what broke me. I don't want to carry what was never mine. I want to be the man You called me to be. I want to leave healing behind. Forgiven people forgive people. Mercy breaks what shame created. Grace restores what sin destroyed. Love rebuilds what pain abandoned. I am not only what happened. I am not only what I did. The Father who forgave me Is teaching me to forgive. I spent years running from the mirror, trying to hide the man I knew, trying to outrun every consequence of every choice I made and every truth. But You never stopped pursuing, You never stopped calling me home, You met me in the wreckage and reminded me I was not alone. Teach me to love my children with a heart that is safe and true, teach me to show them Jesus more than the damage I went through. Let my daughters see a father who is humble enough to change, not a perfect man without scars, but one redeemed by grace. Hurt people... Hurt people. Forgiven people... Forgive people. But healed people... Heal people. Lord, make me one of them. I will not pass down what broke me. I will not hand down the pain. What was wounded ends behind me. What is healed begins again. My children will know mercy. My family will know grace. The cycle ends here. The darkness loses its place. I was lost, but You found me. I was broken, but You stayed. Now I stand as a testimony To the power of Your name. The hurt ends with me, the healing starts through me. The scars tell the story, but grace writes the ending. I cannot change yesterday, but I can surrender today. I can love differently, live differently, and walk in the freedom You gave. I have carried the chains, but they no longer define me. I have walked through the valley, but the Shepherd walked beside me. Every tear, every failure, every lesson brought me here. Not to erase the past, but to redeem what remains. This is not my ending. This is where healing begins.
