Song lyrics
Lyrics
Father, I've spent too many years trying to build my own kingdom, living by my own terms and calling my own rights wisdom, I offended the Holy One while convincing myself I was free, I wandered far from Your heart but somehow Your mercy kept pursuing me, I broke what You called sacred, I chased what could never satisfy, I filled my hands with ashes while Your grace stood waiting by my side, You never stopped being faithful, You never stopped calling my name, even when I ran from Your presence You loved me exactly the same.
I'm tired, Lord...
Not because I doubt You.
Not because I don't believe.
I'm tired because the work isn't finished...
And I still need You to carry me.
Bring back the child in me.
The one who trusted completely.
The one who ran to Your arms
Before running from Your voice.
Light my fire again.
Breathe into these dry bones.
Teach this weary heart
To find its home in You.
Bring back the child in me.
The enemy came to destroy me again, he whispered my failures were stronger than grace, he told me my story was finished, that shame would forever define my name, but Your truth kept breaking the darkness, Your Word kept calling me home, every hour I spent on my knees became another stone in the altar of hope, when my coals burned low You stayed beside me, when my prayers grew weak You still listened, when I had nothing left to offer You never stopped giving Yourself, and now I know the battle was never about whether You would remain, it was always about whether I would finally surrender.
Lord, don't remove Your hand from my family.
Keep my daughters close to Your heart.
Mend the lives my choices wounded.
Restore what I could never repair.
Change the lens through which they see.
Don't let my failures become their identity.
Let them know Your goodness...
Long before they remember my weakness.
ABBA...
FATHER...
Bring me back...
To life.
Bring back the child in me.
Teach me to trust again.
Teach me to laugh again.
Teach me to hope again.
When my fire grows dim,
Breathe on these fading coals.
When my faith grows weak,
Remind me whose I am.
I don't want another kingdom.
I don't want another throne.
I just want the heart that believed
My Father was enough.
Bring back the child in me.
I'm still Your son.
Still covered by grace.
Still being formed.
Still coming home.
So, Father God, Lead my days, in Jesus’ Name!
