Stay With the Wounded · Track 03

Stay with the Wounded

Long-term care joins patience with honest limits. Rest, shared support and reliable return keep love truthful; demanding visible progress or promising impossible availability can turn care into another burden. The Father's care reaches beyond one helper's capacity. Jesus meets both wounded friend and weary helper in their limits, and His faithfulness grounds the prayer to love again tomorrow. Faithful care returns without commanding recovery, shares help without abandoning responsibility, and rests without disguising disappearance as a promise.

Lyrics

Father, remember the ones left awake. When everyone leaves and the brave faces break. Carry the cries that don't fit in a song. The questions that hurt when the night gets too long. Reach through the hours that no one can see. Bring them the help that may not come through me. Call us to care when the first rush is gone. When grief has no schedule and life must go on. Keep us from asking their pain to be brief. From making their healing the price of relief. Teach us to walk at the pace they can bear. Let patience become how we answer this prayer. Some days... Love feels heavy. Some days... I am small. Jesus, meet me in the limits. I was never meant to carry it all. Stay with the wounded. Lord, teach us to remain. Through the slow returning mornings, When the hurt is still the same. Let Your faithfulness run deeper Than the strength we bring today. Call us back to love tomorrow. Help us find a faithful way. Lord, when I'm weary, don't let me pretend. I need Your mercy as much as my friend. The promise of care isn't "I never tire." Don't let my pride set a pace You don't require. No vow to be present each hour of the night. No claim that my hands can make everything right. Help me be honest before I run dry. And ask for support without turning aside. Give me the wisdom to rest and return. To keep love alive when the long hours burn. Let me seek help when the need is too wide. Not leave them to wonder why help stepped aside. I want to see them laughing. I want the weight to lift. And when another morning comes, I want a change I cannot give. Father... hold that longing. Don't let hope become demand. They're a person You are loving... Not a plan that I command. I cannot make time move faster. I cannot make their grief obey. Let me love the person here... Not the end I want today... Tomorrow, let kindness have somewhere to go. A call, or a meal, or a ride down the road. Help me to offer... and leave them a choice. Give weight to their needs, give respect to their voice. Let help be specific. Let promises stand. And keep their tomorrow outside my command. When weeks turn to months and the first voices fade. Keep raising up help that will do what it prayed. Stay with the wounded. Lord, teach us to remain. Through the slow returning mornings, When the hurt is still the same. Let Your faithfulness run deeper Than the strength we bring today. Call us back to love tomorrow. Help us find a faithful way. Rest these hands... then raise them. Give us strength to love again. STAY WITH THE WOUNDED! Lord... teach us to remain.

A three-song prayer for faithful practical help, patient listening and shared care when grief has no timetable. It honors choice, honest limits and the need for helpers to receive mercy too.
