Lyrics

You saw them feed themselves, dressed in the fleece, While the weak went unfed and the wounded knew no peace. No strength for the frail, no balm for the wound, No search for the scattered when the beasts closed around. Across every hillside, abandoned and lone, They wandered the earth with no shepherd to bring them home. But every lost footfall was known to You; Not one of Your sheep had vanished from view. Then over the mountains Your promise rang clear: “I will search for My sheep; I will draw them near.” No false shepherd could keep them; no beast claim the night; You Yourself would gather them into Your sight. You said, “I Myself will search out My sheep; I will rescue the flock from the ravines so deep.” You find the lost, bring back the strayed; You bind up the broken, the weak You sustain. You lead them to pasture; You give them safe ground; You guide them to waters where rest can be found. You are their Shepherd; Your word will stand. You gather the scattered by Your own hand. You will not let the strong turn the clear stream to mud, Or trample the pasture till green turns to dust. No shoulder will scatter the weak from their place; No horn will keep them beyond Your embrace. You judge between sheep; You see what was done; The fat and the lean both stand in the sun. One Shepherd, Your servant, will feed them again; A prince in their midst, and Your peace will remain. No predator rules them, no terror takes hold; You keep Your own flock in Your sheltering fold. YOU BREAK THE YOKE! You call every scattered one out of the night. You lead them to pasture and make the weak strong. NO SHEEP LEFT BEHIND! The flock You restore will no longer be prey. Your covenant stands, and Your word will remain. You send down the rain when the ground has gone dry; Your trees yield their fruit beneath opening skies. Your covenant peace makes the frightened lie down; No beast will devour; no famine will prowl. You say, “You are My people; I am your God.” Your word is the shelter, the staff, and the rod. Lord, make me a witness to all that You do: The Shepherd who searches and gathers the lost. You are the Shepherd; Your promise is sure. You search for the lost; Your covenant endures. I’ll tell of Your mercy, Your justice, Your grace— You gather Your people and give them a place.
